This January my best bud Teceraca adopted a little lavender-and-yellow girl she named Moya. I had already made her a charm of Levi (her first California King) so with Moya’s arrival I knew I had to make one of her too ♥

BESTEST FRIEND EVER. She even gave her the little red eyes. :3

rhamphotheca: feeols: Ringneck Snake (Diadophis punctatus)

Diadophis punctatus, commonly known as the ringneck snake or ring-necked snake, is a species of colubrid snake. It is found throughout much of the United States, central Mexico, and south eastern Canada. Ring-necked snakes are secretive, nocturnal snakes that are rarely seen during the day time. They are slightly venomous but their non-aggressive nature and small rear-facing fangs pose little threat to humans who wish to handle them. They are best known for their unique defense posture of curling up their tails exposing their bright red-orange posterior, ventral surface when threatened.

Pet stores aren’t always right.

In fact, when it comes to reptiles, they rarely are. Make sure you do your research before taking a pet store employee’s advice - or any advice, really! You never want to take your info from just one source.

(P.S. - Ball pythons are nocturnal, they should spend most of the day hiding. While 85 is an appropriate temperature for a BP’s environment, 72 is quite low and will most likely cause long-term health issues like respiratory infection. This “care sheet” also does not emphasize humidity, which plays a very important role in keeping these snakes healthy.)

failureisntflattering:

I adopted this bearded dragon because the owners didn’t want him anymore if he was going to die.

He has MBD so he can’t walk - he just does this crazy shuffle and he has a wonky tail because it was broken when he came out of his egg.

They thought he was going to die because they had left him overnight with crickets in the tank and the crickets started eating the dragons back. They went right through to the spine because of how soft his skin and bones are. They said he hadn’t been eating for a while and didn’t really move much and if he was just going to die they didn’t want to keep him. It seemed that they had neglected him, as he was extreamly skinny and obviously had mbd (which is caused from lack of calcium and uvb lighthing.) i hate people like that.

So, i took him home because i couldn’t bare to see something die when i knew i could at least try to help it.

His cuts have healed so well, but he litrally has not bones in his front feet and walks in the most special way. He eats sometimes but mainly has to be assist fed, but seems to be getting better. I even made him a cast to try to straighten out his tail.

i havent names him yet, anyone got any suggestions?

This is beautiful. :) You should call him Hammertime for the shuffle. (I’m lame I know.)
